Our Journey

See how we started RugbyWorks and our founder’s backstory

In January 2008 Lawrence retired from professional rugby after an incredibly successful rugby career and uses his testimonial year to fundraise for charity.

2008

Off the back of his fundraising success Lawrence sets up the Dallaglio Foundation and starts fundraising for several causes close to his heart.

2009

Lawrence starts to focus his attention on social inclusion and the power of sport to support young people. We start to develop interventions that specifically support young people excluded from mainstream education and establish our mission to support these young people into sustained employment, education or training (EET) when they leave school.

2011

We officially become Dallaglio RugbyWorks. We work towards bringing all of our delivery in house and start expanding across England and Wales, bringing our interventions to more and more young people.

2017

We broaden our remit of intervention to include virtual support for young people and our app Player Profiles is established.

We develop plans to support young people during the hours of 3pm-7pm when they are most vulnerable to being victims of crime.

2021

We launch our 5 year ambition and set ourself the goal or working with over 7000 young people by 2027.
