Our Impact 2021/2022
Our Impact Report for the academic year 2021-2022 details our young people’s achievements as we try to equip them with the skills that they need to go on and create their own positive opportunities and realise their own potential.
The Covid-19 crisis was still affecting society and especially young people by causing high learning losses as well as having a significant impact on their mental health and physical wellbeing. This year we were presented with unique challenges and issues but we never wavered from our goal of supporting disengaged and excluded young people into Education, Employment or Training so that they can have the same life chances as their non-excluded peers.
Our numbers tell the story
Here are some of our headline impact statistics from the past academic year with more detail being found in the full report where behind the words and numbers lie some extraordinary stories of our young people and their achievements.
89% of our Year 11 young people are in Education, Employment or Training in 21/22
85% of our young people said that they felt the DRW programme helped them stay positive in tough situations
87% of our young people observed that they were able to think more clearly in challenging situations and solve more complex problems
79% of our young people found that they had more knowledge and information about potential career opportunities through RugbyWorks.
86% of young people noted an improvement in their physical fitness
77% of our school leaders stated that there was a definite increase in positive behaviours amongst at least half the participants in the RugbyWorks Term-Time programme.
100% of our participants rate our holiday camps 5/5 with 63% strongly expressing wanting to come back to more RugbyWorks Holiday camps
A Trustee at the East Head Impact Foundation said “What impressed me above everything else was the incredible way in which you interacted with your young people and the wonderful relationship you so clearly have built up with them - you have an extraordinary ability to show care, kindness, understanding and patience, and have a strong belief in what you are trying to achieve.”
Real-life impact
A parent of one of our attendees at a Summer Camp said: “I really appreciate you putting this on. It's quite hard at this age to find something to engage boys, especially if they are not football fans. They're too big for a lot of the holiday activity camps, but not really quite ready to be left alone for the day or to organise their own plans. This has been a real boost for him. I'm so pleased we knew about it through the school. Now we know we'll look out for things again, and are quite happy to pay if required.”
