We are pleased to announce that Dallaglio RugbyWorks have been awarded Centre of Excellence Status for 23/24 by The Leadership Skills Foundation Centre for Excellence!

What is The Leadership Skills Foundation Centre of Excellence? 

The Leadership Skills Foundation Centre of Excellence is our beacon status awarded to centres that deliver high quality leadership programmes and celebrates the wide-ranging impact that volunteering has in their local communities. These centres are strong advocates of developing leadership skills in young people.  

Becoming a Centre of Excellence is highly competitive, and they only seek to recognise the top 1-2% of their 2,500 centres. The status recognises centres that are going above and beyond with their implementation of leadership thus empowering their learners to believe, lead and succeed. 

The Leadership Skills Foundation Centre of Excellence felt that “Dallaglio RugbyWorks’ application really encapsulated the essence of their leadership programmes” and that “it was a pleasure to read about the successes within our centre, not only for our learners but for our local community” as well.  

What Our Young People Get Out of the Leadership Skill Foundation Courses?

For many of our young people undertaking the Qualification in Sports Leadership is the first time that they have been given some control in their choices in education. They get to choose the sports, they plan the sessions and decide on what to coach, as well as challenge themselves in many ways they did not think they would be able to do.

As they go through the course, they develop life skills that not only help in their education but that also start to get them ready for their next steps post-education. These life skills are the very same skills that employers look for in their employees and when there are designing their workforce.

Another major positive is that the course engages young people in sport, and sport helps to markedly improve their mental and physical well-being.
