Lawrence leads the way after PE premium commitment
Our Founder Lawrence campaigns successfully as Government confirm PE and school sport premium for next year.
The government has responded to calls from campaigners, including our own Founder, Lawrence Dallaglio OBE, and confirmed the primary physical education and sport premium for the next school year.
The premium provides schools a ‘top-up’ in funding which ensures that every Primary school child in the country will have access to at least 60 minutes of sport activity each week.
The announcement from the government follows campaigning from Lawrence and other high-profile sports stars, including Manu Tuliagi, Hannah Cockroft and Sir Mo Farah that stated the need for the PE and Sport education premium to keep young people physically active during the next academic year, particularly in light of the covid-19 outbreak, which has seen the physical activity of young people greatly reduced whilst at home.
Last month, Lawrence wrote a piece for The Telegraph, which explained his thoughts on why young people desperately need sporting and physical activity within their school environments.
We at RugbyWorks are thrilled the efforts of Lawrence and others campaigners have meant that young people will get an opportunity to participate in sport during school time.
